2023 Toyota bZ4X: How Long to Charge?
Knowing the charging time for the Toyota bZ4X is crucial, especially for those with a busy schedule in Southern California. The good news is that the new bZ4X provides three charging levels with different timeframes, making it adaptable to your needs, whether you have an in-home charger or prefer charging stations. You can find out more about the different charging levels and timeframes available for the 2023 Toyota bZ4X below:
Level 1: 120-Volt Charging: A great pick for drivers with short commutes. You can go from Low Battery Light to 100% fully charged in about 50 hours, which averages up to four miles per hour. * Actual range attainable per minute/hour of charging will vary significantly depending on speed, outside temperature, accessory use, how/where you drive, battery condition and other factors.
You can charge anywhere there is a common household 3-prong outlet.
Level 2: 240-Volt Charging: The best setup for faster charging at home. You can go from Low Battery Light to 100% fully charged in about 9.5 hours, which averages up to 23 miles per hour. * Actual range attainable per minute/hour of charging will vary significantly depending on speed, outside temperature, accessory use, how/where you drive, battery condition and other factors.
You’ll find Level 2 chargers at public charging stations nationwide. * Public charging experience will vary based on charger type (Level 2 or DC Fast Charger) and other factors including vehicle and environmental conditions. See toyota.com/electrified/charging for more information.
Can be installed at home by a licensed electrician. ChargePoint® and Qmerit offer possible charger and installation options.
Level 3: DC Fast Charging: Under ideal conditions, you can charge from Low Battery Light to 80% in as quickly as ~30 minutes (FWD) or ~60 minutes (AWD) with charging that equates to approximately 6 miles per minute (FWD) and 3 miles per minute (AWD). * DC charging time will vary based on weather and other factors. DC charging times will increase significantly as temperatures decrease below 50 degrees Fahrenheit, with considerably longer increases possible at temperatures below freezing. DC Fast Charging should be limited to two sessions per day, regardless of the weather. After two 10-80% charge sessions [and depending on your vehicle grade], DC Fast Charging over the next day may take longer and be less effective. Accessory use, battery level and condition, and charger specifications also can negatively affect charging times. * Actual range attainable per minute/hour of charging will vary significantly depending on speed, outside temperature, accessory use, how/where you drive, battery condition, and other factors.
